Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

is it accurate to be convicted of lewdness and sexual assault for exposing yourself and a child was present even though the child did not view this act because his mother covered his eyes. shouldnt this be sexual contact. even though the actor was a juvenile himself and all it was was indecent exposure. is this enough for meagans law internet registry or meagans law period

I would have to see the actual police report and other evidence in your case before I could give you a definite answer, but in general if the alleged victim didn't even see the alleged criminal act, then I would say that at best you could be charged with criminal attempt.
