Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Forensic Testing for civil matter

Can finerprints & DNA tests be done on correspondence(threatening letters) that was sent to my home? Yes, I informed the postal inspector. I am being harassed for over 2 years by a couple. They're upset regarding a past business deal that was dissolved after finding out they lied about who he was(fake name/credentials,criminal background etc.). Now, two years later they wants to sue me?? I have taped conversations of them & myself saying one thing but court papers filed state something else. Also in the tape is me asking them to stop harassing me & my family. They won't leave me alone. Can they file paperwork for something that happened two years ago? They are career ''suers'', very well known in court system. A prosecutor told me that these are the kind of people who will never leave me alone unless I took legal action and they were right.

Re: Forensic Testing for civil matter

If you bring a civil action and are looking for evidence the Court may order exemplars from the suspects.

As to other questions, it depends. A breach of contract has a 6 year statute of limitations. But there is a laches defense that may apply in some cases.

Consult with counsel to protect yourself.
