my phone father Texts me on a daily basis calling me names and saying nasty mean things to me and my boyfriend.

is there anything I can do to get him to stop this has been going on for eight years and just keeps getting worse

Send him a text message telling him that you will file a criminal complaint for harassment if he does not stop sending you text messages.
