damage liability

I was involved in an accident While operating a jetski. the jetski is owned by my friends father. The owner of the other boat involved is trying to sue my friends father and he wasn't even at the scene. My question is Can he be sued for damages that i posibly caused and if so what do the plantiffs have to prove to win?

Yes, he can be sued. For the answer to what the plaintiff will have to prove, that is to complicated to answer in this format because a lot of Q & A needs to take place. He should consult with with his insurance carrier as well as a local attorney.
