Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

change jurisdiction

We've been in Broward Co. Fl three years. Would like to get case moved from Ill. Do I need counsel in FL, ILL or both? What could i do by myself as legwork in trying to find out how this whole would work?

Once a court has assumed jurisdiction, it retains it.
