Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

owe debt to a collection agency from medical bills accrued from 1997 to 1999. Judgment entered in court for $1994.18 on Jan. 29, 2002 I didn't pay as I was unemployed at the time. Later I was incarcerated for a little over three years. I was released in Feb. 08 and immediately started working. I have kept same job and currently have a child-support garnishment. Recently received notice from collection agency stating I owed $3604.00 from debt and interest accrued. Can they charge me interest for a debt that is that old? Will they be able to garnish my wages also?

Yes and yes subject to the federal limits on garnishment amounts. Their garnishment will not have an impact on the garnishment for child support.
