Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Michigan

Medical Information

My dad 5 months ago was a heatlhy 78 yr old man, he was admitted in a hospital in Florida, due to stomach pains. He was then diagnos with IBS, He then was transfer to Detroit Michigan where there they diagnose him Ulcerative Colitis my dad now is in a coma semi stage. With all kinds of complications and infections, I do not understand how and why so fast has he deteriorate, and why they did not corrected with surgery, and if I can get his medical records to see exactly what happened ?
