Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Michigan

mis-diagnosis

In July of 99 I saw a ear nose & throat dr. for a lump in my neck. He said it was due to infection in tonsils and i needed them removed, which he did. He said lumps would take 6 months to a year to go away. I asked if they should be tested, he said no. I waited a year and when they did not go away i pursued it further. Found out it was Thyroid Cancer. Is this a case of negligent care and is there anything i can do about it?

Thank You

Re: mis-diagnosis

It is a shame that the other reply that you received was basically only an advertisement. Anyway, unfortunately, whether it was malpractice or not at this point is moot. The statute of limitations has run. The statute of limitations is the time period in which you can bring an action. It is two years from the occurrence of the malpractice or six months from when you discovered the malpractice, whatever is later. Unfortunately, in your case, it looks like both time periods have expired. If you wish to discuss it further, contact me at 248-353-9400 or email me at [email protected].

Re: mis-diagnosis

Without all the facts it is hard to evaluate a possible claim. It certainly merits further discussion. There is also an issue with the statute of limitaions that needs to be addressed. Feel free to call me anytime to discuss further. Best wishes! (800) LAW-6685 or (248) 737-7000
