Legal Question in Workers Comp in South Carolina
Injury at work-Fell dislocated shoulder
I was injured on 12/12/2008, taken to hospital via paramedics, shoulder put back in place in emergency room ( fitted with am immobilizer) Given name of physician to see. Turned down becasue an adjuster did not call to make an appointment. I had no idea what to do. Told to look on computer for a FWC doctor, go a loctaion and then referred to a otho, turned down again becasue of procedures I know of getting permission to do work. Finally 01/22/2009 sayw and otho who has referred me to physical therapy. I have to prove to FCW injury has to e proven work related before it is a claim, currently pending. I am frustrated, emotionally drained, driving , dressing has been difficult... depressedion, confused , angry and hurt by thelackof service and attention from my employer and FWC. An attorney will not answer questions with out a retainer of $1750.00. No MRI, 1/2 days for one week, and now back to work full time and in pain. I took 4 days of leave just to rest . In a diffierent arm sling. How long must I wait to find out if medical bills will be paid? Will I be able to get quality care andnot just told it is ok and problems later?I fell while at work. What a mess??? I am a federal employee

Re: Injury at work-Fell dislocated shoulder
You need to speak with an attorney. You said that, "An attorney will not answer questions without a retainer of $1,700.00." That give me the impression that you have not hired one. There are many Worker Comp. attorneys that will provide a free consultation. The best thing you can do is to make an appointment, or at least have a phone conversation, with a WC attorney who can take down all of your information, ask the necessary questions, and advise you. Good luck
